Saturday dinner, the lost girl, and fun with friends.

Tonight Zack and I had chicken fingers for dinner. This was, of course, a new recipe. I have never made "real" chicken fingers before. Last year sometime I made baked pecan chicken fingers, but these were the full of all the fat, fried chicken fingers! Yum. They actually were really good. I served them with baked potatoes and salad.

While Zack and I were sitting down and eating, we received a call from our good friend Skye. Apparently, Skye had gone to a local state park to go for a hike and she had somehow gotten turned around and ended up at the wrong entrance to the park...not knowing how to get back to her truck. Of, course, by this time, it was dark and she was there by herself! Thankfully she had her cell phone with her! She did not have very good reception, but she finally got across to Zack, after many dropped calls, that she was lost and needed him to come look for her! So, Zack got in the car, went to go pick up our friend Hector to go on the hunt for Skye. They had taken Zack's big 1 0r 2 million candle strength flashlight to try to spotlight their game...a small, anxious, tired, and lost girl! Shortly after Zack had gotten to Hector's house, Skye called again to let Zack know that she, after walking a long way, had found the area were her truck was parked and that she was going to go home and go to sleep!

We had planned earlier in the afternoon that Hector and Christy and our mutual friends Matt and Amanda would come over to play games. So, I was waiting at home for Christy and Matt and Amanda to come over. However, not too long after seeing him leave, Zack reappeared with Hector in tow on our door step. Shortly followed by Matt and Amanda, and then Christy (perfect timing!). We ended up eating junk food and playing Zack's new favorite game, "The Settlers of Catan". We had a good time hanging out and laughing with friends, and I was glad that, despite the fierce competition between Zack and Hector for the win, Christy snuck in and took the victory from them both! Way to go Christy!!
