One of our dear family friends got married this weekend. We wish all the happiness in the world for Coach Wood and his new wife.


Coach Woods bride is a very sweet woman that we have had the opportunity to meet on a couple of occasions. We are thrilled that he has been able to find such a wonderful woman to marry and we were honored to be able to be there to support him on this special day.

Michelle looked beautiful in her wedding dress and the couple looked very happy. Anna and Allie of course were beautiful and we enjoyed getting the opportunity to see them and catch up on everything that has been going on in their lives.

In between the Wedding and reception, Zack's parents had to go to a birthday party for a sweet downs syndrome man that was turning 50. Zack's dad had written a characteristically Glenn Song in order to honor Robby and so we went to the party for just long enough for them to perform the song for Robby. It was a hit and I think that the Birthday Boy really enjoyed it!


We hurried from the birthday to the wedding reception and enjoyed the time of catching up with old friends and with family.

The day after the wedding was father's day. Zack's dad got up and made wonderful omlets for breakfast, and after church, we went over to Roadhouse grill to have lunch was Zack's grandparent's. Then we headed over to Zack's other grandparents for a visit before having to head home again to prepare for the week ahead.

Since things are FINALLY starting to slow down a little at work, I have had a little more time to do some sewing projects.

One of our friends asked me to make an apron for her that she could give to her mother. We spent time discussing fabrics and then after settling on three coordinating fabrics, I ordered that fabric. The fabric came this week. So, yesterday I spent the day sewing an apron. I thought that the finished product turned out really cute! Sure hope that my friend thinks so too.


I also spent some time working on an unfinished project from last fall. I had been planning to make some cute purses for some coworkers for a retreat that we were going to take. When the retreat ended up falling through, I stopped working on the purses. I had several of them already cut out. So, today, I spent time putting them together. I still have 4 left to make, but it was kinda nice to feel like I had accomplished something on my sewing to do list. I have SOOOO many more projects to do, I really need to make myself sit down and make a list of the projects that need to be done and I need to give myself some due dates for project completion.

Another project that I have been working on is something to bring on our trip to NJ to give to some of my family. I was trying to think of something that everyone might use that wouldn't require me knowing everyone's sizes. I decided to make all of the girls an apron. I thought that it would be a fun/useful gift for everyone that would be a fun way to remember a great week together. I ended up making 8 aprons. Initially I thought about ordering fabric and having them all match, and then a reminder from my friendly monthly budget had me changing my mind. Thankfully, I have a pretty good stockpile of cute fabrics built up. So, I spent some time trying to figure out what fabrics to use on whose aprons. I hope that I did a good job picking that out. I couldn't think of anything to make for the guys in the family....maybe next time.

ooops I did it again!

I am TERRIBLE about having projects that I have the BEST intention of doing...and then falling through on. This was another such time. I have been busy recently and I have been working a lot. With everything that has been going on I have not really had much time to do any sewing. In fact, I have not really even ventured into the room where my sewing machine lives except to throw more stuff into it to "clean" the house quickly when we are going to be having unexpected or short notice guests.

So, now that things are slowing down a little for me at work and because I had several projects that have recently come up, I braved going into our office. Last week when I went into the office I noticed a cute little polka dot dress hanging on a little hanger...prominently placed so that I would see it. The sight of it made me groan! "On NO!!! Not again!!" This cute little dress was a dress that one of our friends had asked me to monogram for her little girl. She was hoping to have it back so that her daughter could wear it for Easter. (the opposite side of the dress from the polka dots had a cute little basket on it.) ....yeah, you remember Easter...you know, that holiday A FEW MONTHS ago!! ...believe me I still have a few more projects like this one that need to be done, but this one makes me feel the worst, because this is the SECOND time that I have fallen through on a promise to this particular friend! Ugh! I am such a bad friend!

After I noticed the dress, I let Jaclyn know that I was going to monogram it over the next week and try to have it finished by this week. That way, maybe K could wear it for a little while before she out grows it....sigh!



I felt REALLY bad. So, I thought that I would monogram a couple of tshirts for K to wear over the summer....to sort of poorly make it up to Jaclyn for me not having the dress ready when she needed it. I thought that the tshirts turned out really cute. Hopefully K will get to wear them a lot this summer.

Gone Campin

Zack and I had the opportunity to go RV camping with Zack's parents in June. We went Cloudland Canyon Park and stayed for the weekend. Zack and I drove up there on Friday night and met Zack's parents who had left a few days earlier and had already set up camp.

It was really nice to have the opportunity to spend some time with Zack's parents.

Saturday morning, we stopped by a little convenience store and had lunch/breakfast before starting our day's activities.





We had decided to drive to Chickamauga National Battle Field and ride our bikes around. We probably rode about 8 miles. It was a lot of fun, albeit hot. We rode to several of the different points of battle and looked at a lot of memorial stones that had been donated to the battle field by the different states that were represented in the battle. Some were simple while others were very elaborate. We spent most of the day at the battle field.












Saturday night, we had a really yummy dinner. Mama Sandy had brought a chicken casserole and then we made some crescent rolls, hashbrown potatoes and almond green beans to go along with it. Yum Yum!

After dinner, we listened to one of Matt's first ever sermons from his summer internship. We really enjoyed getting the opportunity to hear Matt speak and we are so proud of the things that God is doing in his life.

Sunday, we went on a hike in the cloudland canyon park. It was a really pretty hike that ended at a beautiful waterfall. After our hike, we looked around the campgrounds, spent a little time at the camp site, and then we had to head back home as Zack and I both had to work on Monday.









We really enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with family and to make new fun memories together.
