Dinner was delicious. We had hamburgers, baked beans, chips, dip, and corn on the cob. Caren made some REALLY good Strawberry Lemonade, and Forrest had made 2 desserts. The first was an american flag cookie whip topping type dessert, and the second was homemade vanilla ice cream. I was definitely on a sugar high by the end of the night.
After dinner, we had a "parade" It was GREAT. It started out with a stirring rendition of "It's a grand ol' flag" and the kids proudly waving their American Flags. Then, the girls had decorated their wagon and bikes and they rode them up and down the drive way. After that, they formed a marching band, playing their drums (sand pails and wooden spoons) while J played the recorder. Then, they climbed into their wagon and Forrest pulled them while they threw candy at the eager bystanders. AKA the adults.
After the parade, we took a break for dessert. Then, we had a fireworks display. The kids LOVED it!!! :)
Once the fireworks were over, it was time for the little ones to head to bed for the night. They were disappointed to have to go to sleep, but they had an absolute BLAST for the 4th of July inspired night! Way to go Team Jonsie! Another big success!!! Thanks for letting us be a part of your fun night!

I can not believe you stayed up late enough to blog last night. I can tell you don't have kids to wake you up early.
So fun and I want that cake!
