a day of cleaning

Wednesday, we had a wonderful brunch at my Aunt and Uncle's house. Then, we tackled the job of deep cleaning my grandfather's apartment. My Uncle, Dad, and Zack moved out all of his furniture and then shampooed the carpets. Then, my mom and aunt cleaned and waxed his kitchen and bathroom floors. We dusted and cleaned all of the furniture and pictures. Grandpa was a little concerned that it was going to rain on his belongings, which we had moved out into the hallway and out on his balcony. He also was a little concerned that the floors would not be dry by the evening and that he would not be able to get back into his apartment. However, we got the job done and he was very happy with the results.

My aunt invited Grandpa over for dinner and at about 5:30 he drove himself to my Aunt and Uncle's House. My Aunt had fixed a wonderful meal. She made an Asparagus and Chicken dish that was one of my Grandmother's recipes. So, I thought that that was really special. I really do not have any of her recipes, and she has always been touted to me as such a wonderful cook. The dinner was wonderful. There was the chicken and asparagus dish, a three bean salad, some homemade applesauce (Zack's favorite), and some home made sour dough bread.

My Uncle does research on Honeybees and he received a new shipment of bees. They came in a crate with mesh/ wire to allow air in. There were thousands of bees in the crate. My Uncle put them into hives.

After Dinner, we went back over to my Uncle's college and watched "The Count of Monte Cristo" on the projector screen.
