Pauliwog's Puddle: I heart the Yellow Daisy Festival

Yesterday, Mama Sandy, Rachel and I headed to Stone Mountain for the Yellow Daisy Festival. Rachel and I had never heard of the festival, but Mama Sandy had been several years ago and thought that it would be something that we would enjoy. She was right!

When we got there they directed us to this deserted baseball field to park. We were worried that we would have a REALLY long hike to the actual festival, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that it really wasn't a bad walk.

We also were a little concerned about rain, since it was overcast and spitting a little when we got there...but thankfully, the rain held off.

Mama Sandy works with deaf children and she is trying to teach them the concept of different words that mean the same thing...so, she thought that this would ba a good example to share with her kids.

The Yellow Daisy Festival is a HUGE craft show with over 300 vendors and things made from everything that you could imagine. It is amazing how people can take something that you would look at as junk and make it into something beautiful and striking.

and some artists were even doing their craft while at the festival which was really cool to see.

I had so much fun getting to spend the Day with Rachel and Mama Sandy, and I LOVE LOVE LOVED walking past all of the booths looking at all of the things that people had made...It really is quite inspiring!

We ate lunch there at the festival, which meant ridiculously overpriced food. Mama Sandy and I had Gyros and a drink for lunch and Rachel had a chicken pita and a drink. Our meals cost us 9.25 a piece! Seriously?! But, the food was pretty good despite the price...or maybe we were just REALLY hungry by then.

We walked around some more after lunch, and then took a break for some funnel cake while we waited for some of our purchases to be completed (personalization, etc.).
