Zack and I drove up to the mountains after he got home from work on Friday. We got up there pretty late, but spent a little time catching up with people before we headed to bed.
Saturday was a day filled with the 4 big F's Friends, Fellowship, Frisbee, and Food!!!
We started the day off with an amazing breakfast. There is one thing that you know when you head to the mountains with this group there will be lots of food, and it will be good!

Shortly after breakfast,a modified game of ultimate frisbee started. Each team had a goal that was shapped like a box and the other team had to try to keep them from getting the frisbee into the box.

Everyone that played had a great time, and I really enjoyed taking pictures.
Saturday was REALLY hot, so it didn't take long for everyone to be hot, tired, and ready to cool off. So, after the frisbee game was over, we headed down to the creek for a little relief from the heat.

We were having a big BBQ dinner saturday night. So, some of the girls started prepping for dinner. Someone had brought corn on the cob and the ladies laughed and talked while shucking the corn.

Once the younger generation had cooled down from their mornings activities, they challanged the older generation to a game of ultimate frisbee. They divided the teams in half based on age. Zack ended up being in the older group. The game was not the blow out that was at first expected. The older guys held there own and showed themselves to be tougher competition than their younger rivals had initially anticipated.

While the girls sat on the porch talking and cheering all of the players on.After the game, we all headed inside for a quick lunch. It started to rain, and the guys just couldn't resist getting out in the rain to play frisbee. They got a little bolder with their jumps, dives, and throws knowing that the ground was soft and wet from the rain.

It didn't take long for the rain to stop and the some of the guys decided to play another quick game of frisbee.

By the time this game was over we were pretty much all ready to go for a swim. So, we headed over to the local swimming hole to cool off. The area is beautiful, but the water is so cold that it is hard to stay in for very long.

By the time that we got back, the people that had stayed behind at the cabin had dinner underway and they had picked and were peeling apples to make apple pies.
Aunt Brenda's fried apple pies were delicious.
While we were waiting for dinner to be ready, I noticed this...I think that it looks like the handy work of my brother in law...not sure how long it was before Father in Law realized this was on his forehead.Dinner was great...I was so hungry and every thing looked so good that I forgot to take a picture of it. We had BBQ sandwiches, slaw, baked beans, broccoli salad, key lime pie, etc.
We stayed up talking and laughing for a while, but not too long after dinner, everyone was ready for bed. It had been a warm day and we had spent most of it in the sun...that can be pretty tiring.
Sunday morning after another amazing breakfast, we had a little church service out on the back porch.
These services are always enjoyable. we sing some songs...usually a few that we all know stumbling a little over the words at times...and every year we say that we should bring words to the songs...and every year we forget...it's part of the tradition now I think. This year Leslie shared with us about her mission trip to Honduras.
Zack and I had a great time over the weekend and really enjoyed getting the chance to spend time with these special people.
