Skye and her super cute CakeMy friend Skye had a birthday this past Friday (Oct. 10th). Her boyfriend John, wanting to give her something special, planned a surprise party for her and it was a lot of fun. Skye, as always, was crazy...and it was good to see old friends and meet a few new ones! Our friend Emily made Skye's cake, which was really cute and really good!! Skye is an Art Teacher at a local Christian School, hence the art inspired cake. How to go Embo!!
We had dinner at the Harvest Moon Cafe, a local restaurant. John had told us all to arrive at the restaurant around 8, but had given no further directions. So, I checked to see if he had left reservations, but no...So, after wandering around for a little while, we saw an equally lost looking couple with a card and asked them if they were there for Skye's birthday surprise...between us, we figured out how many other people were coming and got a table while we waited for Skye's big entrance. I think that Skye really appreciated her surprise birthday dinner.
